Above are the scans for this rare vintage pre WWII heroic bust desk ornament. It is still in near mint condition showing the head and shoulders of of a helmeted German soldier. The figure is wearing a double decal transitional helmet similar to those worn during the Spanish civil war. One may also see pronounced collar tabs and breast eagle on the tunic portion. The almost perfect dark finish on the bust gives a bronze-like appearance to the statue. It is larger that most, nearly 7 inches tall and mounted on a 3&3/8 by 3&3/8 grey marble base, nicely felted. Attached to the base is a silver plaque stating that this was awarded to the "favourable commander" by his NCOs for manouvers in Bavaria. A very clean relic of a bygone era.
