You are viewing a CEF WWI era Canadian 255th Battalion Cap badge. Made of what appears to be pickled brass, with lug type fasteners, both intact and in good condition, complete with no chipping or damage to the high relief design features. Note the Victoria crown on this beautiful badge.

The 255th was raised from the Queen's Own Rifles Regiment in Ontario with headquarters in Toronto, during the summer of 1916. They sailed for England on June 2nd 1917. It was quite a small contingent of 297 officers and inlisted ranks. Most of this group were re-assigned, upon their arrival, to the 12th Reserve Battalion.
