This battalion known as the Simcoe Foresters was of course formed in Simcoe County, Ontario, during the winter of 1915-16. This was composed of 998 officers and other ranks. They sailed for England on October 18th, 1916. Upon arrival they became part of the 19th, 116th, and 125th Battalions supplying re-inforcements to those battalions fighting in France.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them.
