You are viewing a vintage CEF WWI era 114th Battalion Cap Badge. Named on the badge as "Brock's Rangers". This badge is made of fine highly detailed browning copper; made using the stamping method. Both "flat" lug type attachments are original and in good order. Hallmarked "P.W.Ellis & co, TO 1916". A very hard to find badge from the CEF era of the 20th century...
This battalion was raised on The Six Nations Reserve in the Haldimand county. Recruting headquarters was in the community of Cayuga. The unit began recruiting during the winter of 1915/16 and sailed for England on November 1st,1916. The battalion, was composed of 709 officers and other ranks, Upon arrival the battalion was broken up becoming part of the 35th and 36th Infantry Battalions fighting in France.
