You are viewing a vintage WII Era Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWAC ) bi-metal cap badge. Made of brass with no hallmark, with its 2 lug attachments, original and in good order.
The corps was authorized in 1941, to help in the various non-combatant functions of the army, and to free up men for active duty in the field. This corps was populated by courageous Canadian women who volunteered to work in various military fields, such as transport, office and secretarial,medical, aircraft observation and maintenance,even in the artillery and ordinance divisions. Most served in Canada but some units, especially nursing, were sent overseas and served in Italy, Northwest Europe, and Great Britain...
