Above are the scans for this WWI 171st Battalion cap badge. (Copper composition) Formed in 1916. This battalion was raised in Quebec, with headquarters in Quebec City. Known as the "Quebec Rifles". Sailed for England in November of1916,and was used to resupply the 148th Infantry Battalion, the 5th Pioneers and the 20th Reserve Battalion. This beautiful example is complete with both lugs. A clean copper o/r badge with very nice patina giving evidence to its age. A beauty for any collector of Canadian CEF badges.
