The straight pin type attachment is original and in good order. That type of broach style attachment may aslo suggest that this badge could be a "Sweetheart". A very hard to find badge from the CEF era of the beginning of the 20th century. This badge is made of fine highly detailed copper using the stamping method...
The battalion was raised in Southern Alberta, with headquarters in Lethbridge. The unit began recruiting during the winter of 1915/16 and sailed for England on September 27th,1916. The 113thbattalion, composed of 913 members,became part of the 17th Reserve Battalion already stationed in England...
