Le Regiment de St. Hyacinthe was mobilized on January 3, 1942, more than two years after the war began. The regiment spent the war guarding Newfoundland and doing reserve duties in Canada. 

(Better than spending the war hiding out in woods around Mont Laurier, eh?)
