Above are the scans for this browning copper version for the 229th CEF battalion cap badge. Comes with both original lugs and is hallmarked "EO. H. LEES". Clean badge with design highlights still clear and distinct. An excellent example of a bygone age.
The 229th battalion CEF was also known as the "South Saskatchewan Regiment". Its volunteer members came from Saskatchewan, with headquarters in Moose Jaw. They began to form up during the summer of 1916. The 443 members sailed for England on April 18th 1917. After their arrival in England they became part of the 15th Reserve Battalion, supplying reinforcements to the front lines.
