You are viewing a vintage CEF WWI era 118th Battalion Cap Badge. Named on the badge as "North Waterloo Overseas Battalion ". This badge is made of fine highly detailed browning copper; made using the stamping method. One can see polish residue left by previous owner. Both lug type attachments are original and in good order. A very hard to find badge from the CEF era of the 20th century. ..

This battalion was raised North Waterloo County in Ontario. Recruiting headquarters was in the town of Kitchener, which had undergone a recent name change from its original name of "Berlin", Ontario.. The unit began recruiting during the winter of 1915/16 and sailed for England on January 26th,1917. This was perhaps one of the smallest CEF battalions. It was composed of 246 officers and other ranks, Upon arrival in England, the battalion became part of the 25th Reserve Battalion.
