Above you may view the scans for this interestingly designed set of two WWI 229th Battalion collars. A clean copper badge set, with nice age patina. This set all it lug style attachments in good usable order. Note the beauty and exquisite detail on the face of these tiny WWI Saskatchewan collar badges. Amazing workmanship in those fine details.

Formed in mid 1916. This battalion was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. They were known as the "South Saskatchewan Battalion". The 229th sailed for England in April of 1917 with a compliment of 443 officers and men. One of the smaller battalions we sent. Upon arrival they were called upon to resupply the 15th Reserve Battalion.
