Above you may view the scans for this interestingly designed WWI 229th Battalion collar badge. A clean copper o/r badge with nice patina. It has vertically placed lugs. Note the beauty and exquisite detail on the face of this tiny WWI Saskatchewan collar badge. Amazing workmanship in those fine details.
Formed in mid 1916. This battalion was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. They were known as the "South Saskatchewan Battalion". The 229th sailed for England in April of 1917 with a compliment of 443 officers and men. Upon arrival they were called upon to resupply the 15th Reserve Battalion.
