You are viewing a WWII Era Cap Badge for "The Prince Albert & Battleford Volunteers". A fine example of this bi-metal badge with a central Bison head made of copper and surrounded by the name scrolling. Around that a wreath composed of a distinctive crown, maple leaves all supported on an infantry horn. Both original lugs are in good order on this finely detailed badge. Enjoy the scans.

The regiment became active on Sept.1, 1939, just as the war was getting underway. The regiment was broken up in May of 1941. The Prince Albert portion became the Prince Albert Volunteers. The Battleford portion of the regiment initially served on the home front as well, but they later became part of the 16/22 Saskatchewan Horse, all this while the British Navy was busy chasing the famed Bismarck across the North Atlantic.
