Above are the scans for a WWI 27th Battalion cap badge. (Copper composition) This beautiful example is complete with both lugs. One has been repaired. Apart from that it is a clean copper o/r badge with very nice patina giving evidence to its age. A beauty for any collector of Canadian CEF badges.
Formed in 1915. This battalion was raised in Western Ontario and Manitoba, with headquarters in Winnipeg. Known as the "City of Winnipeg 27th Battalion". Sailed for England in May of 1915,and served in France and Belgium with the 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division.
