You are viewing a vintage WWI era cap badge for the 254th CEF Battalion, (Qunite's Own). It is composed of pickled brass with both original horizontally opposed lugs in good order. Lots of age patina on this specimen, giving evidence of its age and authenticity. A rare badge from the late WWI period.
Quinte's Own was composed of men from Central Ontario who gathered in Belleville, Ontario during the summer of 1916. The battalion, composed of 251 members (one of the smallest battalions of the CEF contributions to WWI) finally set off for England on June 2nd 1917 under command of Lt Col. A.P.Allen. Upon arrival the battalion became part of the 6th Reserve Battalion.
