Mobilized in Edmonton on July 1st 1914 the "Loyal Eddies" were one of the first Canadian regiments to enter the WWI frey. They sailed for England on June 4th 1915, with a strength of 1032 officers and enlisted ranks . This battalion, composed completely of volunteers served in France and Belgium, through out the war as part of the 7th Infantry brigade, 3rd Canadian Division.
