You are viewing a vintage Queen's crown era (early 1950's) British Police Helmet Plate for the Cumbria Constabulary. This early QC period badge is made of brass. It has been blackened, over the brass, which, I have been told, was done in England during wartime, as a camouflage attempt. Since it is a brass QC, it is most likely made during WWII or may be of Korean War vintage, but issued after 1953. This large badge still has its three original lug-type attachments in place and in good order.
