You are viewing a WWII era Regimental Cap badge for the "Buffs". This is the 198 C variety as shown in Charlton book. This badge is made of brass, overlaid with gilt finish. Has straight pin type attachment , suggesting officer grade. It is functional and in good order. Has a high quality design with no chips or dents.


This battalion was raised in Blairmore, Alberta, during July of 1916. This was a larger battalion.

872 members of the 198th sailed for England on March 28th, 1917. Upon arrival they became part of the 3rd Reserve Battalion which was sending additional reinforcements to other battalions fighting in France.
