Above are the scans for a WW144th Batallion cap badge. This beautiful example is complete with both orignal lugs. A clean copper o/r badge with very nice patina giving evidence to its age. A beauty for any collector of Canadian CEF badges. Formed in 1915. This battalion was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with headquarters in Winnipeg. Sailed for England in October of 1915 and served in France and Belgium under command of one Lt. Colonel E.R. Weyland, with the 10th Infantry Brigade, 4th Canadian Division. It was later redesignated the 44th New Brunswick Battalion.
